Adafruit NeoPixel LED Dots Strand - 20 LEDs at 2" Pitch
All prices are VAT included
Attaching NeoPixel strips to your costume can be a struggle as the flexible PCBs can crack when bent too much. So how to add little dots of color? Use these stranded NeoPixel dots! They're very small, so they're easy to embed into any structure, costume, or wearable. Each dot is enclosed in a small plastic weatherproof button, we don't recommend dunking these underwater but they can survive temporary outdoor usage.
Each strand has 20 dots with a single NeoPixel inside with cabling connecting them. The dots are 2" apart, we also have a version that is 4" apart.
NeoPixels are 5050-sized LEDs with an embedded microcontroller inside the LED . You can set the brightness of each R/G/B. Each LED acts like a shift register, reading incoming data on the input pins, and then shifting the previous data out on the output pin. By sending a long string of data, you can control an infinite number of LEDs, just tack on more or disconnect unwanted LEDs at the end. The PWM is built into each LED-chip so once you set the brightness you can stop talking to the strip and it will continue to PWM all the LEDs for you.
These NeoPixel strands have 20 digitally-addressable pixel LEDs. The red wire is +5V, the middle wire is data, and the other edge wire is ground. There are small markings on the dots that indicate the input side, which should be the end with the male pin connector, but if you're not sure, just try both ends! We have a tutorial showing wiring, power usage calculations, example code for usage, etc. Please check it out!
Please note , the buttons have little plastic hooks molded into the back but they're often mismolded. Since the hooks are not very strong anyway and we recommend sewing down the wires with fishing wire, we don't guarantee that the mini hooks will work.
