This UL-listed 12.9 W , “wall wart”-style switching power adapter supplies up to 2.5 A at a regulated 5.15 VDC . It is intended for use with 5 V USB devices, and it has been specifically designed to supply slightly more than 5 V to help ensure that the device it is powering receives close to 5 V even when the current draw is high. The AC adapter works with input voltages of 100-240 VAC and has a 1.5 m (5 ft) DC power cord that is terminated by a USB micro-B connector.

Details for item #1773

This UL-certified AC-to-DC converter with MicroUSB cable gives you an easy way to deliver up to 2.5 A to your USB-powered device from a US-style AC electrical socket. It is designed to provide a nominal 5.15 V output at the USB connector. The actual output will remain between 4.8 V and 5.55 V for any load that does not exceed 2.5 A. Since the USB specification allows supply voltages from 4.75 V – 5.5 V, this adapter should be safe for use with compliant devices.

The adapter features a US-style two-prong plug and works with input voltages from 100 VAC to 240 VAC, and it features a 1.5 m (5 ft) DC power cord with 18 AWG wires that is terminated by a USB Micro-B connector , which makes it great for powering devices like a Raspberry Pi (especially newer Raspberry Pi models, like the Pi 3, which can draw a lot of current!). With this adapter's thicker wires, its output voltage is less prone to dropping under load than many competing units that use thinner wires.

Wall Power Adapter: 5.15VDC, 2.5A, USB Micro-B Connector, 18AWG 1.5m Cable.

Note: This adapter might not be suitable for powering all USB-powered devices as some USB devices go into suspend mode if they do not see activity on the USB data lines. If the device is configurable, you might be able to disable this suspend functionality so that it can run while powered by an adapter like this.
