Each pack contains five 36-pin female socket headers, standard 0.1" pitch. We also stock its male plug counterpart that these fit with . You cannot use regular stamped-metal headers with swiss pins as they will not fit
Female headers are like the duct tape of electronics. They're great for connecting things, soldering to perf-boards, sockets for wires or break-away headers, etc. We go through them real fast and thought that given how handy they are, we'd offer them in a pack of five!
You can cut these down to different sizes fairly easily. First, count how many positions you want as the final piece, then cut the next pin's plastic in the middle (there's one pin that gets sacrificed). You can clean off the half-spot with a file or diagonal cutters.
