This little two-faced cutie is so versatile! Its WiFi half can be used to make Internet of Things devices cable-free or we also love to take advantage of a single-board Linux computer's USB ports to add a low-cost, but high-reliability wireless link. The Bluetooth side of things can be used for all kinds of BLE connectivity projects and devices. It's great for when you only have a single USB port (aka Raspberry Pi A+ or BeagleBone) as there's no need for a hub to add both types of wireless.
If you only need a WiFi Module, we love our Miniature WiFi Module and our beefier USB WiFi Module . For just Bluetooth our Bluetooth 4.0 USB Module is killer.
Drivers for Bluetooth modules are built into Windows 10+ so you do not need to install any software or download anything. Just plug it in and let Windows auto-install the BT driver, it may take a few minutes!
For Linux, a kernel module install is required, but given the RTL8723BU is the only chipset available it wasn't too bad. A tutorial is at https://raspmer.blogspot.com/2018/07/mantistek-wa150-wifibluetooth-rtl8723bu.html - we ran it on a Raspberry Pi Zero and it worked, just took a while to complete the install.
