Luigino328 PROTOTYPE
All prices are VAT included
Luigino328 is an Arduino Compatible board. All the applications made for Arduino run on it, it has the same shape, it is Arduino-shield compatible * , the Arduino IDE sees it as an Arduino 2009.
Like every Luigino board, the Luigino328 has something different from the Arduino.
We studied the Arduino and discovered that we could improve it. The Luigino328 is, in reality, a dual microcontroller board! In fact, we have added a small PIC12F to manage some features:
Automatic Voltage Selector
The PIC12F automatically switches from USB to VIN power when an external power supply is connected. No user intervention is required, no current is sent to the USB bus.
Automatic Serial Port Selector
During programming, the TX and RX are directly connected to the FTDI chip and the external socket is disconnected. It is possible to program the Luigino328 without removing the shields that use the serial port.
SmartResetTM
Luigino328 understands when the user wants to program it or when he just wants to open serial communication from the PC. It is reset only for programming. This feature can be easily enabled/disabled by the user.
*This card is a prototype. There is a small error in the ICSP connector, it is shifted 0.125mm up and to the left, standard half pitch 0.254mm. While this is no problem for most applications, if a shield uses the ICSP connector for power and/or communication, you need to find a way to connect it. The only Shields that use this connector are the Ethernet Shield and the XBee Shield.
We have published a Tutorial to easily solve the problem and be able to use any Shield.
Due to this hardware bug, we have decided to sell this PROTOTYPE board at an extremely low and affordable price.
